You can support plants in different ways. In the cultivation of Amaryllis, Dianthus, Lilium, Chrysanthemum, Freesia and Hydrangea, growers often spread netting horizontally between the two ends of the beds in order to support the flower stems and to keep them straight or to prevent wind blowing the pots over in outside conditions. Many applications in horticulture are vertically. The netting is then spread vertically as a support for crops like tomatoes, bell peppers, beans, melons, and pumpkins.
Vertical support is an excellent method to increase the crop’s yield. The openings in the netting ensure easy access during harvesting and allow for sunlight through and air circulation.
